Each foundation decides for itself whether to have a supervisory body and other advisory bodies in addition to the board of directors. The question regularly arises as to whether their members should be active on a paid or unpaid basis. Even if they are only to receive a so-called lump-sum allowance for exercise managers or honorary office allowance, the corresponding regulation must be included in the articles of association.
